The images taken were very incredible since in the photo, the elephant is shown being very much happier with the car parked. The images were taken by Armand Grobler, a field guide and lodge manager, in Pilanesburg National Park in South Africa. Grobler has said, “He was doing the ethology.” Ethology is the study of animal behavior and at that time, he wanted to know what the elephant was actually doing. The elephant was supposed to be on musth, the condition in which the elephant male has an excess amount of testosterone.
The increase in the testosterone can even cause the calmest Dumbo into a raging bull. So far, the elephant did not show any kinds of aggression or the frustration but he was in the playful mood. The elephant usually use the logs so that they can get relief from the itching and other parasites but here in the image, the bull elephant can be seen properly that the elephant has come close to the car and it was a chance too good to pass up. Mr Grobler added: ’We were unsure of what to do in the situation when the elephant made contact with the car, and when the car was being crushed, we feared for the lives of the driver and passenger but our efforts were very limited as to what we could do.”
